so this started out as a simple illustration back in like December '09 that i just wanted to do after my beautiful friend posted a flik of herself online in this wonderful gold, glittery outfit with her hair curled all awesome-like. i am always drawing straight hair on my women/girls and so i thought this would be a perfect challenge to tackle curls, especially with so many!
eventually after i finished it and inked it, i decided i wanted to chunk some colors on it and then just went to town!! i had lots of fun practicing my coloring and then started adding some BG elements. the butterflies and her wings i did in Illustrator and all the krazee colors and BG effects i did in Photoshop. i had sooo much fun doing this one and really only worked on it on my breaks @ job. eventually it was completed, in like early April this year. i didnt ever post it cuz i had a print made and wanted to give it to my friend as a gift before she saw it online.
however, it seems harder and harder for us to connect anymore and frankly a four month old drawing is way too long to keep under wraps. and for one that came out this awesome, i cant see holding onto it anymore without posting it and sharing with you guys.

ps. i would like to post the photo i used but i would rather have permission to do so. so if i ever get that, i will post it for comparison.
