Summer In Southtown.

Summers in San Antonio are a wonderful thing. Minus the sometimes unbearably humid heat lol, the days here are pretty fresh. Southtown (the just South of Downtown area of our city) is full of restaurants, art galleries, and a chillaxing lifestyle. On any given day when the weather is nice, the streets of Southtown are rife with cyclists of all forms, often traveling to find a cold drink to suppress the heat. Be it alcoholic or non-alcoholic, there are plenty of popular options in Southtown. My personal favorite being The Friendly Spot; a hub of cyclists, good times, a stacked beer selection, hot food, and oversized-projected Spurs games. Not to mention, it absolutely lives up to it's name and is by far one of the friendliest places here in town. S/O to Adrian.

We have been cleaning out the apartment recently and I came across this piece I had forgotten about. I painted this little filly at an art competition back in 2011. I changed the painting a bit after the competition to make it  more of my own and not catered to the promoters of the competition (we had to include the logo). The theme was "San Antonio" so I thought, what better way to shout out my own city than by painting a young cyclist having a beer on a warm Summer day in this wonderful city--a favorite pastime for so many of us here. It's my ode to the growing cyclist lifestyle here in San Antonio. Something I hope continues to grow from here, forward.
