Today's workload involved quite a bit. I spent most of my day working on my clothing from getting quotes, working on designs, to reading and doing some R & D for myself. It's interesting to see how similar and how different all of this is in comparison to my art hustle. And boy is it FUN! There are things that mash well with the two and things that just are miles apart. For instance it takes a bit more start-up costs to get clothing produced as opposed to paintings and illustrations. That seems to be my bigger hurdle at the moment. However in today's world, we are blessed with a wonderful thing like pre-orders. I spent a few hours working on all the above and then took a break to grub.
I then proceeded to work on some logos. I spent some time reading about Benny Gold and his brand and it inspired me to draw and think a bit more graphically. Which is always fun to see a piece go from a simple pencil sketch to a fully rendered vector image. I worked on logos for musicians I am familiar with in hopes to pitch some ideas to them. After a few minutes sketching, I took a break from my workload to go have a workout in the pool. Pool workouts are some of my favorites. It keeps the body a bit cooler so you can work out longer. However, the water provides constant resistance on all of your muscles and that in turn keeps the workout about the same time as it would outside of the water. Quite a fun thing. A midday workout can do wonders for the brain. I feel like it gives me a second wind to come back to the studio and get a few more hours in overnight.
Tonight's work will consist of some consulting, some drawing, and then some more reading. Reading is a wonderful thing and I owe a lot of what I do and know to reading. And quite honestly, it can be anything you read that helps. You never really know what you're going to learn or how and where you'll be able to apply it in your life.
Tomorrow I hope to finish up my piece for Blazy of The Vultures and hopefully I'll be able to post it here for you guys to see. Until then keep posted on all things Awake and Movin' by checking out the website. I made a few changes and tweeks today and overall it's gonna provide a better experience for our audience and supporters. So keep an eye on that site as we will be making posts a bit more often and sharing more of our experiences in what we do as a brand.
Stay Creative,
BLUE731.
