i sometimes grab random photos to sketch and study fashion and how wardrobe behaves. so i think i will begin to post these as well. i definitely recommend all beginners to do this, it helps IMMENSELY when giving your characters your own clothing and style.
i have started this funky style again as i havent drawn this loosely in a long time. definitely FOOD inspired and definitely a lot of fun to break free from conventional anatomy and "comic style". anyhoot, i found this girl as i was poking around on various Tumblrs and decided to draw her becuz i liked whut she had on. she's wearing this dope looking leather coat, small and slim with thick gold zippers, lots of "wrinkles", and thick ribbing @ tha bottom. i was really captured by her pose as well, looking down, appearing shy and timid. whether she felt that way when she shot it, i have no idea, but the photo certainly conveys that...i wanted to include elements from her room/walls, but i kinda liked it where it was so i stopped. i was really excited about doing her hair as well, it has this nice flow to it and looks awesome. if i can contact her, i may post tha photo for comparison. this was done all in inks; Sharpies and Prismas.
note: the sketch was taken with my iphone last night so quality is not that great, but i did try to clean as best i could.
