I was recently invited to come out and paint at an event Sunday night in the DTPHX area from a fellow artist and DJ, Randy Boogie. I met this cat last month at Art-A-Gogh-Gogh. He was a cool dude, we had a great interaction that evening, and he took well to my work so it was a no brainer for me when asked to come out. The spot was Sochu House. When I walked in, he was bumpin' my favorite Bonobo track "Nothing Owed" from the Live Sessions CD, which is much better than the original version in my opinion. The place smelled great when I walked in; something mean was cookin' up in that kitchen yo. I didn't get a chance to get my Guy Fieri on unfortunately, but I did get to knock out two paintings I hope to get scanned in and posted for y'all soon. I painted under a color changing bulb which had it's struggles but was an interesting change from what I'm used to. Randy Boogie held it down on the decks with a siiic set featuring Atmosphere, Egadz, and many more greats. The lights were super dim and the Sapporo was ice cold. Overall, I had a great time. This was my first live painting show since relocating to Phoenix and it was a great way to shake the ring rust I been feeling. Thanks to the bar staff at Sochu and to the homie Randy Boogie for giving me some great music to paint to and for another artistic opportunity.
Stay Creative,
BLUE731.
