After a few hours of driving and a quick pit stop for some Peter Piper (sans the skeeball unfortunately), we found ourselves in Downtown Fort Worth and I must say--they sure do know how to do Xmas. I was amazed by their lights and the overall humble feel of their Downtown. We didn't get to explore much, as it was getting close to show time, but just walking through the area was a good feeling. We got into the Red Goose Saloon, settled in, and Rabbit started her painting. I don't think this city was very aware of what we were all doing there because some people seemed to not understand "live art" (man I hate that term lol). People seemed to be confused or simply not care through lack of understanding. Not even about the live painting, but also as to the DJ clinic these dudes were putting on. You see, DJ Spiderman (Dallas), DJ Vicious (SATX), and Don Santos (Houston) were there as well opening for DJ P and were straight KILLING IT on the decks. By the time DJ P went up, bboys were throwing down all over the club and people started to warm up to what we were doing. Yeah, WE.
See Rabbit likes to get me painting even when I'm not trying to paint lol. Usually though, I'm glad for it in the end. We collabed on the piece she was working on. At first, we were both feeling a bit "off" and weren't liking the painting so much. Then she got to painting patterns in a buffing manner and it started coming together much better and faster. We decided to paint a Kabuki mask of sorts and had a great time creating it. It had been a good minute since we worked on a piece together like this so it was good to have that feeling again. Eventually we finished it and started another for the raffle. The winner was thoroughly pleased with his prize and took it home still wet lol. The first one (below) was sold to a patron there. I didn't get a photo of the second painting we rocked but if I can get one from the winner or someone else I'll put it up in another post. We got plans for this image so stay tuned for that as well!!
As for photos, you can peep them at BLUE731.com today through the weekend. Enjoi!!
